Which tree species would you like replanted on Guy Street, Warwick?

Posted: February 23, 2012

With seven mature London Plane trees on Warwick’s Guy Street facing removal due to ill-health, Southern Downs Regional Council is asking residents to nominate their preferred replacement tree.

Manager Parks & Projects Michael Bell said it is Council’s intention to replace the trees to ensure the beautiful streetscape is maintained.

“Late last year Council adopted the Street Tree Planting Guide, which provides guidance on those species suitable for planting on our footpaths,” Mr Bell said.

“From this list and the London Plane tree already in the streetscape, Council has identified three tree species which we believe will grow and provide colour similar to what you would have previously experienced.

The three species are Claret Ash, London Plane Tree or Crepe Myrtle.

To ensure your views can be included, take the online survey and rate your tree preference. The survey is open until 12 March 2012.
