Council is now calling applications for the 2010 Young Ambassadors (Warwick) and Young Delegates Programs (Stanthorpe).

Young Ambassadors and Young Delegates commit themselves to work with Community Youth Workers to improve the quality of life for young people (10 to 24 years of age) within their area and the greater SDRC region.

Successful applicants will actively participate in the achievement of the YA and YD program objectives, identify exciting community projects, and be self-driven in seeing projects through. Initiative will be needed to identify, plan and complete a project relevant to youth needs at the Warwick or Stanthorpe end of the region or in the wider SDRC region, either individually or in a small group.

YA’s and YD’s will also represent youth and SDRC by attending some of the major events held within the community.

Applications for the YA program are available now from Council’s website www.southerndowns.qld.gov.au or from the Youth Office in the Town Hall (Palmerin Street, Warwick). Applications for the YD program are available now from the Council website, the Granitenet website www.granitenet.com.au or in person from Stanthorpe Community Development Services (8 Corundum Street, Stanthorpe).
