Budget 2011/12 - Discount Period returns to 30 days
Ratepayers have 30 days from the date of issue on their 2011/12 rates notice to pay their full rates bill if they want to receive a 10 per cent early payment discount.
Residents can also object to their rating category by asking in writing within 30 days of the date on their 2011/12 rates notice for a review of the category applied to their property.
The review may take up to 60 days and any category change would be applied retrospectively, however it is important that residents note they must still pay their full 2011/12 rates within the discount period to receive the 10% discount.
Any discrepancy in the dollar amount paid should a category change be agreed would then be either refunded or re-invoiced.
Rates notices are expected to be issued in mid August.
