Budget 2011/12 - Beautifying the Southern Downs - Parks & Gardens
The Southern Downs region prides itself on beautiful parks and green space areas that meet the needs of residents and visitors.
The 2011/12 budget provides $310,000 for capital expenditure on park improvements, playground equipment and public toilets throughout the region.
A total of $25,000 is allocated to replace park furniture across the region’s parks and streetscapes.
Improvements continue in Stanthorpe’s Weerona Park and Warwick’s Leslie Park in the coming year with $30,000 allocated in each park to replace pathways, and $15,000 to be spent on Leslie Park’s garden upgrades.
Playground equipment will be replaced in Allora’s Stuart Henry Park ($55,000), Rosenthal Heights’ Chase Estate Park ($55,000) and Killarney’s Canning Park ($35,000).
Council's 2011/12 Parks & Gardens budget will round out the work by replacing the toilets in Leyburn’s Liberator Park at a cost of $70,000.
