Boil water alert lifted for Stanthorpe
Southern Downs Regional Council today lifted a boil water alert on town water in Stanthorpe.
Council issued the boil water notice as a cautionary measure due to the incidence of discoloured water appearing in some parts of the town on Friday.
After testing and a vigorous mains flushing program, Council today gave Stanthorpe water the all clear.
It appears the issue was minor, related to a disturbance of sediment during replacement of water infrastructure.
As a cautionary measure, Council undertook water samples and conducted E.coli tests. The test results came back all clear with no evidence of E.coli presence.
