Shade structures added to Stanthorpe and Warwick skate parks

Southern Downs Regional Council has completed several shade structures to provide sun protection for people using the skate parks in Warwick and Stanthorpe.

Installation of the cantilever metal shade structures was completed yesterday, at a total cost of $75,000 for the two parks.

“Outdoor activity is extremely important to people in this region and these skate parks provide a healthy outlet for young people interested in skating, scooters, BMX bikes and rollerblading,” said Mayor Ron Bellingham.

“These shade structures provide important sun protection for the people using these facilities,” Cr Bellingham added.

“This is yet another step toward improving and updating the public spaces in the Southern Downs used regularly by children and their families,” said Mayor Ron Bellingham.

Also completed this week were new playgrounds at Chase Estate Park, Warwick, and Stuart Henry Park, Allora.
