Posted: February 1, 2012
Applications are now invited for financial assistance under the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) program for Round 3 – 2011/12.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a Queensland Government and Southern Downs Regional Council partnership to support local arts and culture.
Cr Mally McMurtire, Chair of the local RADF program said, “the RADF Program, established in 1991 is a highly successful state and local government partnership that supports professional artists and arts practitioners living in regional Queensland”.
“Council is calling professional artists, artsworkers, cultural workers, project coordinators, professional emerging artists, community groups and organisations within the Region, looking for possible funding of one-off short term projects to apply. These projects must offer professional arts, cultural and heritage opportunities”.
The types of grants that have been supported in the past or are eligible for support are visual arts, writing, heritage, individual professional development, cultural tourism and art workshops.
The third round of funding will close at 5pm on Monday, 9 April 2012. Application packages are available from the Southern Downs Regional Council Offices, Art Galleries and Libraries in Warwick and Stanthorpe or by telephoning Sue Organ on 4681 5524.
Applicants should be aware that projects should not commence prior to approval being granted by the RADF Committee and Council. Council’s final decision on applications for this funding round will be at the General Meeting to be held on 23 May 2012 - grant monies will not be received until after the approval process is finalised.
