These two adorable puppies urgently need a new home with loving families. Both are under six months old.
The German Shepherd was surrendered to Warwick Pound on Monday 17 October 2011 and the Red Cattle Dog X was found wandering in Forde Street, Allora on the same day.
The Warwick Pound supervisor describes both animals as “really friendly and willing to learn”.
“They both seem to get on well with other dogs,” she said.
They are two of fourteen dogs and cats currently at the Warwick Pound that need to be reunited with owners or be adopted.
In total four dogs and four cats, one with six young kittens, are urgently needing new homes or will have to be euthanised.
A new page on Southern Downs Regional Council’s website now makes it easier for people to find their lost pet or look for a pet for adoption.
A dog or cat that comes to the Warwick Pound is now immediately listed along with photographs, on the new “Impounded Animals” page at www.southerndowns.qld.gov.au.
Animals impounded in Stanthorpe will also be listed on Council’s website shortly.
“We’re really pleased to have these listings up now and hope it will make it easier to reunite or re-home these animals, but we urge people to act quickly,” said the pound supervisor.
“We do not have the facilities to keep animals for more than three days, after the initial health checks are carried out,” she explained.
“One of the worst parts of our job is having to euthanize animals because we can’t find them homes.”
