Proposed Amendment to Warwick Shire Planning Scheme

PUBLIC NOTICE
PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO
WARWICK SHIRE PLANNING SCHEME

Amendments to the Warwick Shire Planning Scheme were proposed at the General Meeting of Council on 20 December 2006 and 27 August 2008.  The purpose and general effect of the amendments are:

 (i)

 The control of the use of existing rural lots for residential purposes, to minimise land use conflict.  Section 7.10, Rural Development Code, is amended accordingly.  The Tables of Development for the Rural, Rural Uplands and Rural Pastoral Land Use Areas are amended accordingly, such that Self Assessable Development includes a Dwelling House that meets the acceptable solutions of Section 7.10.3(a), Rural Development Code.

 (ii)

 To ensure rural residential lots are provided with reticulated water supply, and small rural residential lots (approximately 1.0 hectare or less) will have frontage to a fully sealed, kerbed and channelled road.  Rural residential lots are considered to be not less than 4000m2 and not greater than 4 hectares.

 (iii)

 To ensure the realignment of boundaries will not result in an increase in the number of lots that can accommodate a building (including a dwelling house in the rural Land Use Areas).

 (iv)

 Section 5.0, Measures for Development other than a Material Change of Use, is amended in accordance with (ii) and (iii) above.

The proposed amendments to the Planning Scheme are available for inspection and purchase at Council's Warwick Administration Office at 64 Fitzroy Street, Warwick, or may be dlownloaded using the links provided below.

Written submissions about any aspect of the proposed amendment may be made to Council by any person before 5.00pm, 19 June 2009.  Submissions should be hand delivered to Council or posted to PO Box 26 Warwick 4370.  A properly made submission means a submission that:

 a)
 is in writing and is signed by each person who made the submission;
 b)
 is received on or before the last day of the consultation period;
 c)
 states the name and address of each person who made the submission;
 d)
 states the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds; and
e)
 is made to the local government
