The Southern Downs Regional Council is currently working towards a new set of local laws for the region.  In the interim period, local laws that applied for the former Warwick Shire Council and Stanthorpe Shire Council are still in effect and enforceable throughout the former Shire areas to which they applied prior to amalgamation.
