Emergent works on Condamine River Road

Emergent works on Condamine River Road

The Cambanoora Gorge is an area of outstanding natural beauty. As a result of the declared flood event in March 2021 Condamine River Road was closed for an extended period of time.

Due to the construction of bed level crossings, Condamine River Road is currently closed to all traffic, including local traffic. Weather dependent, works are expected to be complete late October 2023. Visitors to the area can find updated information on the flood remediation works here.

To ensure works on the crossings met all environmental requirements, advice was sought from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) to determine the allowable scope of work on the crossings and to gain consensus and approvals to commence works.

All repair works will be programmed in conjunction with DAF and have been approved in line with the requirements outlined to undertake repairs on an existing bed level crossing.
